Winner! Winner! No Chicken Dinner... But a Niiiice Prize Pack!
The lovely winner, Cariana! |
Earlier this week, I announced the Grand Prize Winner for The Mane Objective's MyFitnessPal Challenge -- Cariana T.
Although the drawing was random, I am super excited that she was picked. She is definitely an inspiration, and her words are an awesome reminder for anyone on a health and wellness journey. Read her story and find out why:
Why did you join the Challenge?
I wanted to join this challenge because I had recently fallen off the bandwagon with tracking my calories. What better excuse to get back on track than the chance to win a goody bag?! I'm happy that I did the challenge. I am now back on track.
What is the most valueable thing you have learned from using MyFitnessPal?
By using MFP I have learned that you can eat a lot more vegetables for less calories than your average candy bar. MFP has really taught me the benefits of portion control.
Tell us a little about your own healthy/natural hair journey, and how you found out about The Mane Objective.
In December of 2011, I weighed 176 pounds. Around August 2012 I had lost 36 pounds. I lost the weight by praying about it, using MFP daily, and exercising to the Biggest Loser Cardio Max DVD 3-5 days a week. I am currently still trying to reach my ultimate goal weight of 130 pounds at a whopping height of 5'1! I'm pushing forward to reaching that goal by June 1, 2013.
As for my natural hair journey, I have been transitioning from relaxed to natural for 6 months. It's been fun so far with help from the Mane Objective Blog. I plan on transitioning for two years and chopping in August of 2014. I found out about this blog by searching the transitioning hashtag on Instagram. I saw some of your pictures and found your information helpful. I started visiting the blog after seeing the link in your profile.
Any advice for those looking to get healthy?
My advice to anyone who wants to get healthy and start a weight loss journey is: push, keep pushing, and push some more! Honestly, you have to. Even after a bad day, as soon as you realize you made a
mistake---pick back up again. I always ask God to give me motivation, determination, dedication, and discipline. He hasn't failed me yet!
Congratulations Cariana! Your Grand Prize Pack is on its way!
