Super Cute Style: Bantu Knot-Out Day II

In my last post, I broke down my process and results for my Saturday Bantu Knot-Out. My hopes were to get the style to last through the weekend, and I was afraid that if I just slapped a bonnet over my curls, they'd be fallen/flat by morning. Instead, I opted to twirl my hair up into loose Bantu Knots -- no combing, detangling, product adding, etc. -- just grabbing up sections and treating them just like I did the night before. I donned my satin bonnet and hopped in bed for awkward night of sleep number 2.

In the morning, I noticed that my hair had retained the same curl patterns from yesterday's Knot-Out. Cool beans! I felt a little funky Sunday morning, so I decided to separate, shake out the knots and rock a curly faux hawk.

I applied Ecostyler (mixed with a little coconut oil) to my edges, and brushed my sides gently while pushing my hair all toward the middle of my head, and bobby pinning vertically along the middle. Then, I repeated those steps on the other side. Since I am growing out bangs, I let the front of my hair hang loose.

Super cute, bouncy and full hair style with minimal manipulation -- easily my new favorite. Unfortunately, it rained on Sunday and my faux hawk didn't stand a chance. Oh well. It was nice while it lasted!
