I've officially knocked back 6 bottles of CURLS Blissful Lengths Liquid Hair Growth Vitamin! This journey has been pretty darn dope.

As I was banding down my hair to go to the gym (a style that resembles two cornrow braids, minus the braids lol) last night, I couldn't stop smiling. My hair is GROWING y'all!

Day by day, it's getting closer and closer to that 2014 greatness, and I'm beyond thrilled.

CURLS Blissful Lengths Liquid Hair Growth Vitamin has been an integral part of this journey - not only because I got the opportunity to experience a liquid vitamin, but because it also taught me how to not over-complicate things.

I've said it before, and I'll keep on saying it - we naturalistas tend to over-complicate this hair thing. And I'll be honest - I'm about 98.4% sure "influencers" are at least 75% to blame.

Myself included.

With new products coming out every 5 minutes, reviews flooding all corners of the internet, hopping on the latest greatest DIY trend, and natural hair products proliferating onto store shelves at never before seen rates - it's no wonder that we stray from the basics and have so much difficulty cutting through the noise.

We all have challenges with our hair, that we'd like to resolve as quickly as possible. My burden has been ridding myself of what remains from color damage. And as I embarked on this journey with CURLS Blissful Lengths Liquid Hair Growth Vitamin to help expedite my solution, I thought about incorporating "other things" to help me further along - like nightly scalp massages, holding off on trims, and even tucking my ends away into buns during the week to protect and prevent splits and breakage.

There's nothing wrong with these things (except for the not trimming part), in theory. But in practice for me, they had the strong potential to sway me off course.

So I rejected them, in favor of a simplistic approach to hair growth.

I knocked back a shot of CURLS Blissful Lengths every evening, and went on about my business. If they worked, they worked.

The Bottom Line
The bottom line here is... they freakin' WORK! I don't know what this sprint to the finish line was between January and February, but umm... I've NEVER....ever...ever...seen over an inch of growth in a month. I measured my hair four times to make sure I was seeing correctly, and I knew my numbers.

I just wasn't ready.

When you take into account that I trimmed about 1/2 inch off my hair in December - I've grown and retained 2 and 1/2 inches of hair. Skipping the trim would have put me at 3 inches - which means I averaged an inch of growth a month. That's above and beyond my standard 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch that I see unassisted.

Without CURLS Blissful Lengths, my hair would have grown at maximum, 2 and 1/4 inches. Subtract the trim, and we're talking 1 and 3/4 inches. So yes, I'll gladly take that extra 3/4 of an inch. That's big money in the curl world.

Overall, I'm incredibly pleased and excited about my hair growth progress with CURLS Blissful Lengths. These vitamins work, y'all!

Anywho, so let's get into this month 2 update! You guys know how I roll, so after I break down my length check, it's time to discuss the pros and cons of CURLS Blissful Lengths Liquid Hair Growth Vitamin.

Length
I'm sure you're wondering how a effective a vitamin is when there's only 1/4 inch of growth between December and January. Not so fast! The truth is, I trimmed my hair...twice. If you'll recall, right around the holiday season, I did a fab blowout (which I still dream about! Lol). I took advantage of my hair being in the stretched state, and gave myself a trim to even up my ends and get rid of split ones. And then, I did something that I don't recommend you do (but I'm hardheaded) - after I reverted my hair back curly, I trimmed it again. I'm obsessed with straight, blunt ends. When my hair reverted back, there were some tapered pieces that I couldn't detect while my hair was straight - so snip, snip!

Now that my hair is in a happy place, I'm ready for forward progress and growth. But even still - 1/4 inch of growth after two trims is pretty darn good.

Pros
Easy to Take
Swallowing pills is no big deal for me - I take big @$$ vitamins all the time. But there's just something so easy and quick about knocking back a tablespoon of liquid vitamin. It's definitely a plus - especially for my peeps who don't like swallowing pills.

Great Taste
Not gonna lie, I was expecting blueberry flavor. I don't know why - there's nothing on the label about blueberry flavor and it's not a part of the Blueberry Bliss Collection. So when it came out orange, I was shocked. I expected some syrupy gag-worthy cough medicine flavor, but it's so far from that. It's nice, bright, sweet (but not overly so), and has a nice gingery flavor to it. I love ginger, so I definitely might be biased in that regard, lol.

Versatility in Dosage
Have you ever emptied out a vitamin capsule to mix it in a drink because you didn't feel like (or couldn't) swallow a pill? Worst. Experience. EVER. Vitamins notoriously taste terrible. But with Blissful Lengths, it's super easy to mix it in your bottle of water, your breakfast smoothie, or a cup of juice. Easy peasy.

They Work
After downing 4 bottles of Blissful Lengths, I can confidently vouch for the vitamin's effectiveness. Not only am I experiencing growth (hey there inches), but my hair is looking fuller and healthier than it has in a long time. I'll be back at my 2014 hair goals in no time!

No Interference
Some vitamins are finicky, and cause upset stomach and other reactions when combined with other supplements. I've found that this is not the case with Blissful Lengths - I've taken it with my other vitamins, before my pre-workout, and even right before bed - without any issues. This is great for someone like me, who's always on the verge of or getting to do things (like take my vitamins).

No Random Growths
This is a common question - will the vitamin make me grow hair faster other places? I hear ya ladies. Who wants extra hair...on their upper lip? Or on the back of the kneecap? I'm happy to report that my hair growth isn't taking off all over the map - just on my head. Lol.

No Breakouts
I learned a long time ago that biotin by itself for me is a no-go. It makes my skin breakout in really painful pimples. I'm happy to report that Blissful Lengths does not result in adverse skin reactions. Because nobody - NOBODY wants bangin' curls and bumpy skin. Nobody.

Make sure you keep Blissful Lengths in the kitchen!

Cons
Refrigeration Necessary
Okay, so con is a bit of a misnomer here - but this is something I felt necessary to call out. After opening, the Blissful Lengths Liquid Hair Growth Vitamin must be refrigerated. I totally missed that step on my first bottle, but have been refrigerating it ever since. Refrigeration is not a con in and of itself (honestly it's a pro - it lets you know that the ingredients are fresh and not full of shelf-stabilizing chemicals), but it's something to consider for folks like me - where out of sight = out of mind.

Price Value in Comparison to Other Brands
Listen. No ifs, no buts, no coconuts here - Blissful Lengths costs more than the competitors in terms of dosage. One bottle = 15 days or 1/2 a month supply - which means you'd spend $50/month to take these vitamins. For all my economicaccountologists out there, a cost/benefit analysis is handy at this point. For someone who doesn't like swallowing (or can't swallow) pills, Blissful Lengths is well worth it. If you're looking for a straight shot and to start seeing results within a month, Blissful Lengths is worth it. If hair growth is not a priority for you right now, then you may be better off holding out, or catching it on sale. I will tell you this - one bottle is not enough to gauge benefit. You definitely need at least a month to assess whether it will work for you. But that's the case with all vitamins and supplements - don't expect to see any benefits until 30-60 days.

1 Month Results
I started off with 12 and ½ inches of hair in my selected growth area on November 9th. Upon measuring December 9th, I was shocked and incredibly pleased when I stretched out that curl and hit the 13 and ½ mark. 1 inch. In a month wit CURLS Blissful Lengths Liquid Hair Growth Vitamin. Straight up. For those that need a frame of reference, my hair typically grows 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch in a month unassisted. So I'll gladly take a full inch!

One month, baby!

But here’s where I’m getting really excited. As of late on wash day, I’ve been having these moments like, “where did all this hair come from?!” Seriously – there’s a fullness in my curls that hasn’t been there in a looooong time. Focusing on a regimen that bolsters the health of my hair and scalp for surely is paying off – and I believe that the Blissful Lengths vitamins are playing a key role in encouraging my progress as well.

Do you find the vitamins are working for you?
This is a loaded question. Based on my growth comparison from November to December, I'm confident and leaning toward yes as far as growth is concerned. But you guys know I don't hastily jump to conclusions. If I can make it to month 2 with positive progress, then it'll be a definitive yes. Stay tuned!

What are the pros and cons?
Yassssssss! I love it when we're on the same page! While 1 month is a little too early for an exhaustive list of pros and cons, I can definitely say that I've experienced great benefits with minimal drawbacks. The biggest pros right now are the ease of dosage, it's easy on the stomach, doesn't interfere with any of my other supplements, doesn't break me out, and doesn't keep me up at night. The only con I've experienced thus far is of my own doing - I didn't read the fine print about refrigerating after opening, lol. My first bottle sat on the shelf the entire time - but I made sure to get it right with bottle 2 and 3.

Are they more effective than The Mane Choice pills?
Right now, I can't say. After 2 months, I'll answer this one - because that's how long I took The Mane Choice vitamins. But full disclosure here - I had The Mane Choice's original vitamin formula, not plus.

The easiest shot I've ever knocked back.

What does it taste like?
Not like blueberries, lol! I'll definitely admit that I was completely confused when I saw the blue bottle, the packaging in line with the rest of the Blueberry Bliss Collection, and then...orange stuff poured out. The taste, I can't really compare it to anything, because this is my first time ever taking a liquid vitamin. Although I will say it reminds me of vitamin chews - sweet and fruity, but still vitamin-y. Definitely not nasty, though!

Does an entire bottle last one month?
Nope. 1 bottle lasts approximately 15 days - so you'll need 2 bottles a month :)

Did you have any acne breakouts?
No breakouts! Always a great thing. Nothing worse than sacrificing healthy skin for hair growth.

Did it taste good enough for you to remember to take it everyday? 
The taste is pretty good - but I wouldn't say that was the driving factor that made me remember to take it. I did miss a few days (I ain't perfect), but the ease and convenience is what really drove me to remember. Even though I'm real about my vitamins and supplements, I'm finicky about how I take them. I gotta get the water, and then count out the pills, and so on, and so forth. With Blissful Lengths I just pour a shot and knock it back like bam! It's easier for me to take this more than an actual shot, lol.

Have you ever tried Sugar Bear gummies? If so how do they compare?
I have not tried the Sugar Bear Hair gummies, and I can honestly say I probably never will. They give me flat tummy detox tea vibes with their influencer marketing. Lots of pretty pictures, no real results. But if you know of someone who has had a positive growth experience, point me in their direction so I can stand corrected :)

Has it caused any tummy issues? Does it leave an after taste?
No tummy issues, at all. I’ve tested it in the morning, afternoon, evening, with my other supplements, with pre-workout, right before bed – and nothing. All good on this front. And no aftertaste. :)

As you guys know, I'm far from kidding about reaching 2014 levels of gloriousness with my hair. I'm talking peak natural health - with length, volume, and textured poppage to the gawwwwds.

I'm on a mission to get back there, and my product/supplement junkie habits are in full swing. As you guys know, August thru October I went on a hair growth journey, and experienced a smooth 3 inches of growth in 3 months - which is 25 to 50% more than I would have achieved on my own. Hair growth - I'm on my way! Let's turn things up a notch!

For starters, I'm a regular vitamin popper, so I've never done the liquid vitamin thing. The fact that CURLS pushed through with a liquid vitamin was a game changer in and of itself. I wrote about the Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Paste back in 2014 (I got in on that early release!), and did a review of the Reparative Leave-In and Curl Control Jelly in time for Valentine's weekend.

It's no secret that I'm a supplement junkie. Vitamin Shoppe and GNC are two of my favorite stores, ever. I live for high quality, effective supplements. I firmly believe in healthy hair through healthy body, and that while food should always be our primary source of nutrition - I'm willing to admit that my diet is sometimes lacking and to be honest, our food sources loose a lot of their nutritive powers in the time it takes to move from farm to store. I wholly credit the fact that I haven't had a cold in a solid 2+ years to the fact that I work out regularly and take vitamins. And I give hair growth vitamins credit where credit is due, for pumping up my crop up top.

But 98% tho?! I'm here for this - especially if I can substantiate the claim via research and personal experience. So I embarked on phase 1 - research. I was able to uncover in the recesses of the internet an online resource called Physician's Desk Reference, an online, multi-channel suite of journals, resources, and a database for healthcare professionals that houses the most recent information about prescription drugs, and more. Apparently in the journal issue #49 on page 52, research and reporting from doctors has shown that 85-98% of nutrients in liquid form are absorbed in 22-30 seconds. I tried my hardest to get into the PDR database to fact-check this for myself, but wouldn't you know it - I don't have any of the certifications necessary to register for an account. Because I'm not a medical professional :) No worries though - I'll chat with Samuel's mom to see if she has any insider information. I'll report back, lol.

I say all of this to say, I'm here for every bit of the #GrowandSlay challenge! Starting today, and for the next 3 months, I'll be putting the Blissful Lengths Liquid Hair Growth Vitamin to the test, and incorporating key players from the Blueberry Bliss collection to help bolster my results.
